![]() ![]() A big consequence for die-hard fans of certain older games, unlike those made today, is that the more obsessive types might genuinely want to buy and play their favourite games on more than one platform. Others might even be an entirely different game altogether from one format to the next. ![]() As such, some games could feature anything from subtle to quite radical differences depending on which system you bought them for. But anyone who was playing games in the Eighties or Nineties will tell you, that wasn’t always the case! One videogame system could be wildly different from another in its look and feel, and the march of progress was so fast that systems very quickly became antiquated. Buy a mulitformat game in 2021 and you can generally expect that you’re going to get the same experience no matter what system you play it on, give or take a few frames-per-second or a difference in resolution.
